Democracy Optimist is a series exploring election law and voting as the country nears what many consider the most consequential presidential election of a lifetime. Written and hosted by University of Kentucky election law and voting research professor Joshua Douglas, this monthly program is produced in partnership by WEKU, Eastern Standard and Dynamix Productions. Our guests for Episode One, the Secretaries of State of Kentucky and Michigan, Republican Michael Adams and Democrat Jocelyn Benson respectively,  oversee elections in their states. We hear how they are applying lessons of the 2020 election to ensure a free and fair voting process on November 5.
