July 13, 2023 - Eastern Standard

Kentucky Student Voice Team co-founder Andrew Brennen

In this episode of Eastern Standard, hear from Andrew Brennen, a central Kentuckian who is doing the work to emerge as a potent national voice on behalf of civil rights and youth engagement in educational decision-making. Gerald Smith gets the little known history of Mammoth Cave's earliest tour guides: African American slaves. We get the details about a benefit concert on behalf of struggling Native American youth on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. And Crystal Roberts crosses paths at the Festival of the Red with singer-songwriter Hannah Howard.
