The “Art of the Originals” series is made possible by a grant from the Kentucky Native American Heritage Commission, established in 1996 to recognize and promote Native American contributions to Kentucky's history and culture. 

The series, presented in partnership with Undermainarts.org, begins on July 9, 2026 with an article and a companion Eastern Standard interview with Trevor McChristian, enrolled Navajo,  focusing on Native American tropes and stereotypes in musical theatre.
