What can public records tell us about the 19th century slave trade - and the enslaved - of Lexington, Kentucky? We’re about to find out. It’s Dr. Gerald Smith’s focus for the latest in our series on racial justice and equality. His guests: Special Projects Deputy Fayette County Clerk Shea Brown and Dr. Vanessa Holden, an associate professor of history at UK and director of the Central Kentucky Slavery Initiative.
