It’s now safe to say that many, maybe most, of us are feeling quite uneasy about the atmosphere in our country. Political violence, for example, has been happening more frequently and with lethal results. What’s driving it is the focus on this conversation with data journalist G. Elliott Morris who is best known for his work on election polling and predictive analytics. From 2018 to 2023, Morris was a data journalist for The Economist. From 2023 until 2025, he was the editorial director of data analytics at ABC News, overseeing FiveThirtyEight. Today, he publishes the Substack newsletter, "Strength in Numbers."
